I took this photo today because I found those wooden sticks yesterday and I really wanted to take some long exposure photos with them. Essentialy just following the trend. But I love it. Taken at Lions Beach, St. Joseph, MI of Lake Michigan which in fact isnt all that rough so I have to make a very long exposure.

For this picture I used my 64x ND filter. This cuts the light back by 6 f-stops. Then I could have a normal aperture with a long exposure time and get soft water like that. I felt like using graduated ND filters to but mine are really scrached in the middle and I cant use them. But I think the light proportions turned out alright after all. I used my tripod to keep the cam steady for the 30sec exposure.

I edited this photo in Rawshooter. I moved the white balance around a bit to get that nicely saturated color. Added a little bit of shadow and highlight contrast. Editing in Raw really helps because you loose a lot less in the quality when your editing than in photoshop. So just resize and border in photoshop.

I would like to thank my host brother who waited in the cold while I was taking these pictures even though he could have been snuggled up at home watching TV. But I hope he likes the results.
