Trying out the new uploading system. So more than one files at once huh? These are some photo of this guy skating that I dont even know but he let me take a few shots of him.
Photo Technique:
This is the first time I used my flash on something...fast. I love it. I put the flash on manual zoom on 70mm (yes the flash itself has a zoom) so that the skate would be nicely filled. I had the flash on E-TTL to do it automaticly and the camera on manual. 1/200 sec ISO 400. This way there is still some detail in the sky and some of the park.
I dont remember the aperture because it was the fisheye lens.
Edited in Rawshooter. Adjusted Shadow&Highlight Contrast, Saturation, Fill Light, Exposure Compensation
I used a Wacom Tablet to make the sky a bit darker and have a bit more contrast
I think you did a pretty good job on all your skate photos. It's quite challenging to take photos in the dark like this, but you managed to capture the action, the surrounding and the beautiful sky. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of camera flash because it tends to wash out the subject and make the lighting look quite unnatural, but yours doesn't look washed out at all.
Thanks a lot for your kind words. Actualy it was pretty light out It was the combination of strong flash and fast shutterspeed and aperture that in the end made it look like it was dark
If you use the flash as a fill flash not an extremely way to bright flash things work out great
