This Infrared World by InfernalFear This Infrared World by InfernalFear
I took this photo right on the day I found my IR filter again. I was very excited about it and had to go take pictures imediatly. This was taken with a Hoya R72 and later manipulated in Rawshooter and Photoshop. If you want to know more please feel free to take a look at my IR processing tutorial on my site :) [link]

Tools: Canon EOS 350D | Sigma 18-200mm | 5s | f/3,5 | Hoya R72

God, I love IR photographies. This picture gives me the feeling of winter, not the bad sides of it but the mysterious, silent and free side. Love it. +fav

Thanks a lot. Many people associate ir shots with winter. though the best ir shots are taken in spring and summer. :P

I see you are using the sigma 18-200mm. I've been thinking to get one myself, would you recommend it?

Hi there, infernal!

The composition works for me. The way you've placed the trees just leads the eye out to the field.
Its all very compelling in IR-colours, though I find the light a bit harsh. You've made a good decition adding some gradient-filter to it also covering some of that haze in the sky.
The field gets a little too white in front, maybe its something you couldn't do anything about, I don't know...
Anyways, the shot is lovely, just should've been taken at another point of the day to avoid the hars clouds and preventing the field from getting so white (needs a little detail).

Thanks a lot for your critique. I appreciate it a lot. But with this shot i didnt use any gradient filter :giggle:

hmm, the hoya filter made that effect?

oh yes thats correct. Well i will say it diffrently. The hoya filter helped this effect. But digital IR photography requires a lot of post processing. If you want to see the whole steps to a finished IR photos you could look at this tutorial [link]
There you can see how straight from the camera photos look also :)

The tone of the sky is beautiful and the trees look clean and nicely in line. Only the grass could be a big more sharpter and or darker.
